I am a full‑time music teacher with over 35 years of experience, dedicated to helping students of all ages and abilities grow into confident, capable, and creative musicians. Across my career, I’ve taught in a wide range of settings — including schools, private tuition, and further education — giving me a deep understanding of how different learners think, progress, and thrive.

My Qualifications & Achievements

I hold a Diploma of Licentiate from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, one of the UK’s most respected conservatoires. Alongside this, I have been honoured with two prestigious awards recognising my long‑standing contribution to music education:

• Honorary Diploma – National College of Music and Arts (HonNCM)

• Honorary Diploma – Independent Contemporary Music Awards (HonFMus ICMA)

These honours reflect my commitment to supporting students, promoting musical development, and contributing to the wider musical community.

Currently I am studying a masters in Professional Media Composition in Film and TV.

I am also the author of eight published books for electronic keyboard, titled Supplementary Electronic Keyboard Pieces, released by London Music Press. These books are used by learners and teachers across the UK and beyond, and they form part of my ongoing dedication to creating accessible, enjoyable learning materials.

My Teaching Experience

Over the past three decades, I’ve taught hundreds of students – children, teens, adults, beginners, advanced players, and returning musicians. Many of my former students have gone on to pursue careers in music, including performance, teaching, production, composition, and further study at conservatoire level.

Exams & Learning Pathways

For students who wish to take exams, I offer clear and supportive routes:

• Piano & Electronic Keyboard exams

  • With the National College of Music and Arts (NCM)

  • Evidence/video‑based and available year‑round

  • Ideal for busy adults, school‑age learners, or anyone who prefers not to perform in front of an examiner

• Music Theory exams

  • With Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM)

  • Completed online, offering flexibility and comfort

Exams are always optional – many students enjoy working towards grades, while others prefer to learn purely for enjoyment. Both approaches are equally valued.

Lesson Options

Lessons are weekly, with a choice of:

• 30‑minute sessions

• 60‑minute sessions

Music theory is taught as standard within piano and keyboard lessons. For students working towards higher practical grades, a separate theory lesson is often recommended to ensure full understanding and exam readiness.

• Online from anywhere

• Or a combination of both, which many students find convenient and flexible
